Poultry stunning device - STZ 6DW

Electrical stunning device for chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys.

The device is configured and optimised according to the stunning conditions - the type of poultry being stunned, the number of pieces being stunned at one time and the speed of the production line. The recommended weight of the poultry to be stunned ranges from 0.5 to 10 kg, and the number of heads to be stunned at one time depends on the size of the stun tub. The adjustable current total must not exceed 3.3 A per piece.

The robust, durable housing, safe connections and the high quality of the electrical and electronic components used allow for intensive use.

The device requires no special protection and maintenance. However, annual maintenance is necessary for proper operation.

The STZ 6DW is a mains-powered unit with an isolation transformer with an electronic measurement and control system and with a PIG820 slaughter parameter controller and a logger.

The power supply unit is housed in a special box. The box is adapted for fixing at the place of use.

On the side wall of the power pack there is a power socket with a special pin.

The external door of the power pack features:

on/off button (start - green, stop - red)
a LED indicating VOLUME - red;
ALARM indicator light - yellow;
digital display of stunning voltage, stunning current and frequency (x10);
stunning parameter controller console and stunning parameter recorder;
inspection window with SD card slot and fuse socket.The device automatically measures the resistance and, on the basis of the guidelines , selects in real time the appropriate current values to carry out the correct stunning cycle.

The STZ 6 DW stunner must be connected to a mains circuit made with a copper wire of not less than 1 mm2 in cross-section.

The use of electric current for water-bath stunning of poultry is one of the most commonly used methods. Heads of birds, suspended to a conveyor working in continuous motion, are immersed in a bath of water, where, using electrodes, electric current is supplied from the STZ device.

The programmed intensity and the voltage, which is automatically and continuously adjusted to the birds' resistance and the water, cause loss of consciousness and sensitivity to pain.

This is a popular method of stunning, mainly due to the low cost and ease of conducting the whole process.

The device complies with Council Regulation EC No. 1099/2009 of 24 September 2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing, and meets the European Union requirements for the humane treatment of animals.
