The history of KOMA began in 1989 when engineer Zygmunt Stefek founded the company in a small, rented workspace. Initially operating as a modest "garage workshop," KOMA manufactured its first specialized equipment for the meat processing industry, supplying small slaughterhouses across Poland. The growing market demand, fueled by deep customer trust in our exceptional product quality, led to a rapid surge in orders. This dynamic growth necessitated immediate expansion, prompting the creation of a dedicated service and customer support department. At this pivotal moment, a strategic decision was made to commit all our resources to the continuous development of the company—a mission that drives us to this day.

To meet the increasing market demand, we purchased a new production facility in Wilkanów. This major expansion allowed us to hire new talent, establish a formal organizational structure, and significantly upgrade our machinery park. Driven by evolving market needs, we diversified our manufacturing portfolio by introducing a new line of professional roofing burners and accessories. Simultaneously, we continued the dynamic development and production of our flagship STZ equipment for the meat industry.

The year 2003 marked a crucial milestone in our corporate growth: achieving the ISO 9001 quality management certification. This validated our unwavering commitment to continuously improving our products and services, solidifying KOMA's reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality industrial equipment. We also began expanding our sales into international markets, steadily building long-term partnerships across Europe and actively participating in domestic and global trade fairs. Furthermore, the acquisition of our first CNC machine revolutionized our manufacturing processes, setting entirely new standards for production precision.

Embracing modern technology, we implemented advanced IT systems for corporate management, warehousing, and customer service optimization. Our production capabilities expanded even further with the addition of state-of-the-art CNC machine tools. During this period, KOMA earned numerous industry awards and significantly grew its global customer base. We also reinforced our commitment to quality and sustainability by integrating our quality management system with the ISO 14001 environmental standard. This was a vital step for us, proving that environmental responsibility is an integral part of our corporate mission.

With the construction of our brand-new headquarters, we introduced cutting-edge equipment and machinery that enable us to maintain the highest global quality standards. The company's dynamic growth also resulted in the launch of entirely new production lines. In 2021, KOMA’s President and founder officially passed the leadership baton to his daughter, Anna, who now manages the company with deep dedication and determination. Zygmunt remains an invaluable source of industry knowledge, strategic experience, and wise counsel. The active involvement of the younger generation has become our driving force—attracting new clients, implementing innovative manufacturing solutions, and exploring uncharted global markets.
